Doctor Locker is a long-form video interview show. A molecular biology Ph.D. sits down with the best doctors in their fields and asks what you'd want to know, in plain words.
The show
60 to 90 minutes with one doctor. Room for the full answer, not the sound bite. Short clips too, for when you only have a minute.
Our host spent years in the lab studying how genes are switched on and off. She asks the follow-up you'd think of on the drive home.
Every episode's health claims are reviewed by a clinician before it's published. We cite, and we never hype.
Seasons
Cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, lipidologists and ER physicians on what keeps a heart going, and what they wish every patient knew.
Your host
Ph.D., Molecular Biology · UC San Diego
Zoya earned her Ph.D. at UC San Diego studying microRNAs, the tiny molecules that help decide which genes a cell turns on. Her research was published in Nature and Nature Structural & Molecular Biology. After a postdoc at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, she went on to teach STEM at California State University San Marcos.
On Doctor Locker she brings a scientist's curiosity and a teacher's habit of making hard ideas simple. Doctors are people first, and she lets them talk like it.
For doctors
